As we head out of the city, we will drive through the stunning High Atlas Mountains, navigating the winding roads of the Tizi n’Tichka pass. This route offers breathtaking views of rugged mountain peaks, lush valleys, and traditional Berber villages, making the journey as memorable as the destinations.

Arrive at Ait Ben Haddou by late morning. This UNESCO World Heritage site is an ancient fortified village, or ksar, known for its well-preserved mud-brick architecture. Spend about an hour exploring the kasbah, walking through its narrow alleys, and climbing to the top for panoramic views of the surrounding desert landscape. Ait Ben Haddou has been a backdrop for many famous films and TV series, adding to its allure.

Head to Ouarzazate:

After the visit to Ait Ben Haddou, we continue to Ouarzazate, a short drive away. Often referred to as the “Gateway to the Sahara,” Ouarzazate is a city with a rich history and vibrant culture. Upon arrival, enjoy a leisurely lunch at a local restaurant, savoring traditional Moroccan cuisine. After lunch, visit the Taourirt Kasbah, a historic fortress that offers a glimpse into the region’s past. Begin our return journey to Marrakech around 4 PM. As we retrace our steps through the High Atlas Mountains, you’ll have more opportunities to take in the stunning scenery. Arrive back in Marrakech by evening, around 7 PM, completing a day filled with adventure, history, and cultural discoveries.
